Thank you for bringing Hattie I to the spotlight. She was truly inspiring, despite her depression. I truly believe it’s our human right to make the choice to exit this world with dignity when we no longer feel viable. These mandates on our lives and choices need to go !
I am sorry she felt there wasn’t an easier way, that’s cruel . But I am glad for her that she is free. Bless you dear Hattie .
At the age of 86 my larger than life mom said something similar. She said, “the string has run out”. She had done it all, said it all, and loved it all. She was tired. One night her heart slowed down and came to a stop. When you’re done, you’re done.
I went from smiling to sadness reading this. And yet, I'm so fucking grateful to have seen this little bit of her. Pure ownership to the end. That is glorious.
"But, in the end, Hattie chose ownership. Pure ownership. Of her light. Of her body.
Of her dignity." Whew - what a beautiful tribute to a fierce, passionate and oh so Glowing Goddess. Thank you Maryjane for sharing Hattie with us! 💖 Rest in Power Hattie 🙏

Oh. How wonderful she went out fast. Tough for her family though. Sending the love.

she was something else. X
What a beautiful statement from someone who sounds like she had an above and beyond full life experience. And she looks so lovely.
She was a trip.
Yes. She was one helluva broad. And she was ready.
What more could a life ask for other than to be ready when you depart!
